HOEC holds direct and indirect participating interest in 4 fields located in the Assam Arakan Basin, 2 of which are producing and 2 are in the exploratory phase.
Block AAP-ON-94/1 (Dirok)
The successful completion of the initial phase of development saw the drilling and completion of six wells, a Gas Gathering Station (GGS) and pipelines connecting the GGS to OIL’s facility in Kusijan. “First Gas” from the Dirok field was delivered in a record time of 27 months post-approval of the intial Field Development Plan. The full-field development was completed by March 2018 which included the construction of the Hollong Modular Gas Processing Plant (HMGPP) with a processing capacity of 35 mmscfd of gas and 1000 barrels of condensate per day, and the establishment of export pipelines to key facilities.
Post-development, 3D seismic data has been reinterpreted using new well and production data, highlighting the necessity for a Phase-II development which aims to further tap into the field’s potential, targeting deeper sands. This expansion is set to establish the prospectivity of the northern Dirok area, solidifying the JV’s commitment to enhancing production and ensuring sustainable energy delivery.
Block Kharsang
Kharsang Oil field situated in Arunachal Pradesh produces sweet crude from multiple shallow Reservoir intervals of Upper Gurujan Formation and is expected to reach peak production of 2700 BOPD by drilling new development wells for Upper Girujan as part of Phase-IV drilling camapign. Crude oil is sold to IOCL owned Digboi Refinery. Approved Field Development plan envisages additional production to extend the economic life beyond 2040 and improve the recovery factor.
Recent 3D seismic data interpretation supports the prospectivity of deeper sands in Lower Girujan and Tipam which are the next potential targets for drilling and testing. HOEC indierctly holds 10% participating interest in Kharsang through its subsidiaries – Geopetrol International Inc. and Geoenpro Petroleum Ltd.
Block AA-ONHP-2017-19
This block, located in the Tinsukia District of Assam, is surrounded by prolific oil and gas fields, including the major Dirok gas field to the west, Kharsang oil field to the northeast, and the historic Digboi oil field to the east. These fields share the same tectonic regime, enhancing the block’s potential within the Naga Schuppen folded thrust belt regime of the Assam-Arakan Basin.
Given its proximity to the Dirok Gas Field, this exploration initiative is poised to unlock significant hydrocarbon reserves, contributing to the energy landscape of the region.
Block AA/ONDSF/UMATARA/2018
This contract area is located at an approximate distance of 55 Km south-west of Duliajan, in the district of Dibrugarh and consists of Umatara field and South Rajgarh field which were discovered by Oil India Limited in the year 2009 and 1994 respectively.
Presently, the contract area has been evaluated based on the drilled wells data, available 3D seismic data and interpretation reports to further explore & exploit the estimated resources.
